Geo Targetly review: what it does, how it bills and who it fits

A Geo Targetly review from the vendor's own pages: what its redirect, content and consent tools do, how it meters pageviews and who should pick a rival.

Last materially reviewed 2026-10-30

Quick answerGeo Targetly is a hosted rule builder for location. You place one script on your site, then set redirects, content swaps, currency display, blocking and region-specific cookie banners from a dashboard. It suits sites that need several of those jobs in one place. It meters every pageview, and some SEO and plan details are left for you to check.
Geo Targetly is likely to fit when

✓ Multi-country marketers who want redirects, local currency display and region-only banners from one dashboard

✓ Agencies running several client sites on mixed platforms

✓ Small stores on Shopify, Webflow or other non-WordPress platforms that need location rules without code

✓ Teams whose traffic fits a pageview quota after counting every tool on every page

Important limitations

— WordPress-only sites that want location beside other conditions in one plugin

— Sites already on Cloudflare that need one or two country redirects

— Sites with separate country URLs and hreflang tags that only need a visible country selector

— Anyone who needs legal advice on what a regional banner must contain

Geo Targetly review: what it is and what it does

Geo Targetly is a suite of no-code tools that change what a website visitor sees, or where they land, based on location. You build rules in a dashboard, paste one JavaScript snippet into your site and the rules run for each visitor. The vendor's home page groups its tools into redirects, raw location data, content personalization, blocking and compliance. This review reads the vendor's own pages, its help articles and the WordPress.org listings, dated October 30, 2026.

Every plan includes every tool, so you choose a usage quota, not a feature set. The pricing guide explains how the quota is counted, and the what-is guide goes through each tool.

What the vendor's pages list as strengths

  • Redirect control: automatic redirects or a prompt that asks the visitor first, on all pages, chosen pages or one URL, with page exclusions and a manual switcher so visitors can pick their own version.
  • Targeting: continent, country, state, region, city, latitude and longitude, browser language and IP address or range, with bulk upload from a CSV file.
  • Test Mode: the redirect page says visits from other locations can be simulated before going live, with no VPN needed.
  • Redirect details: subpage paths, query strings and UTM tags can be passed on, and hreflang tags can override a redirect.
  • Scale terms: the pricing page lists unlimited domains, unlimited location targets and unlimited product instances on every plan, which suits agencies with many client sites.
  • Platforms: the vendor lists WordPress, Shopify, Webflow and custom sites, and offers WordPress plugins for several of its tools.

Limits to weigh before you start

Location comes from the visitor's IP address, so every geo tool shares one weak spot. Geo Targetly's pages state accuracy of 99 percent for country, 80 to 90 percent for state and 70 to 80 percent for city, which are the vendor's own figures. MaxMind, a geolocation data provider, says it cannot guarantee 100 percent accuracy and that for a visitor on a VPN it can at best locate the VPN server, not the person. Cloudflare calls IP geolocation an estimate.

  • Pageviews are consumed for every visitor, geo targeted or not, and once for each tool running on the page.
  • When the quota runs out, the vendor says service stops after two days unless you upgrade or re-subscribe. Quota does not roll over, and the page says refunds are not provided.
  • The WordPress.org listing for the Geo Redirect plugin shows the WordPress.org notice that the plugin is untested with the latest three major WordPress releases, says a paid Geo Targetly account is required and lists a known Elementor editor conflict with a Safe Mode workaround. The pasted script is the other install route.
  • The redirect page lists user agent whitelisting to skip bots and crawlers, while the vendor's SEO guide says to treat Google's crawler like any visitor. The redirect guide shows how to decide.

Who Geo Targetly fits, and who should pick something else

  • It fits marketers and agencies running several sites on mixed platforms, stores that want redirects, local currency display and region-only cookie banners from one dashboard, and teams that want no code.
  • Consider If-So if the site is WordPress only and you want conditions beyond location, such as device or returning visitors.
  • Consider Cloudflare redirect rules if the site already runs through Cloudflare and one or two country redirects are the whole job.
  • Skip automatic redirects if each country has its own URL and hreflang tags. Google's documentation recommends that setup, with links so visitors can choose a version.
