What is Geo Targetly? The tools, how a rule runs and where it stops

What Geo Targetly is, how its dashboard rules and single script work, what each tool in the suite does and what it leaves to other products.

Quick answerGeo Targetly is a location rules service. You build rules in its dashboard and paste one script into your site, and each visitor's location, estimated from their IP address, decides whether they see a redirect, different content, a block or a regional cookie banner. It does not replace separate country URLs or legal advice.

What is Geo Targetly?

Geo Targetly is a suite of no-code tools that change what a visitor sees, or where they land, based on where they are. The vendor's home page sorts the tools into five groups: redirects, raw data and custom actions, content personalization, blocking and compliance. One account covers all of them, on as many domains as you like, according to its pricing page.

This guide reads the vendor's own pages, dated October 30, 2026. For a verdict, see the Geo Targetly review.

How a rule runs: dashboard, one script, location lookup

The vendor describes three steps. First, you choose which countries, regions or cities trigger an action in its dashboard. Second, you add its lightweight script to your site, which it says works on WordPress, Shopify, Webflow and custom builds. Third, the rules run automatically for each visitor.

Location is estimated from the visitor's IP address using global geolocation databases, and the visitor's browser language is read separately. Rules can be previewed before launch: the redirect page says Test Mode simulates visits from other locations without a VPN. For advanced cases the vendor lists a Geo Location API and a Geo Links API.

WordPress.org also lists separate plugins from the vendor for several tools, such as redirect, content, block and consent. The redirect plugin's listing says a paid Geo Targetly account is required, so the plugin is a way to install the service, not a free alternative to it.

The tools inside the suite

  • Geo Redirect: sends visitors to another page or site by location, automatically or after asking them.
  • Geo Links: one short URL that routes visitors by location. It counts a pageview only when the link is clicked.
  • Geo Content, Geo Image and Geo Bars: show different text, images or a bar on the same URL by location.
  • Geo Currency: shows prices in a visitor's local currency from exchange rates the vendor says update every minute from over 20 sources. The vendor says it does this without changing your actual pricing tiers, so check how your checkout charges.
  • Geo Block: reroutes visitors by location and, the vendor says, detects proxy and VPN access.
  • Geo Consent: shows cookie banners only in chosen regions, with different banner text by location.
  • Geo Page: listed with the redirect tools on the home page and marked as new there.
  • Geo Translate, Geo Location and Geo JS: language by location, raw location data for forms and maps, and custom scripts that run by location.

What Geo Targetly does not do

  • It is not an SEO fix. Google's documentation recommends separate URLs for each country or language version with hreflang annotations, and says not to adapt content by IP analysis. The vendor offers a free hreflang tag generator as a separate tool, and its SEO guide says redirects are acceptable when Google's crawler is treated like any visitor.
  • It is not legal advice. Geo Consent shows banners by region, and whether a banner satisfies GDPR, CCPA or another law is a legal question outside this guide.
  • It is not exact. The vendor states 99 percent accuracy for country and 70 to 80 percent for city, and MaxMind notes that for a visitor on a VPN it can at best locate the VPN server.

Who it is for

Geo Targetly is aimed at marketers, agencies and small-store owners whose site serves more than one country or state and who want location rules without code. If you only need one country redirect, compare it with a Cloudflare rule or a WordPress plugin in geo redirect WordPress plugins. For costs, see Geo Targetly pricing.
