Geo redirect link: how one link sends each country elsewhere

A geo redirect link is one short link that sends each visitor to a different page depending on their country, made in a link tool rather than on your site. Geo Targetly describes its geo links as location-aware URLs that redirect users to different destination pages based on their location.

Set the rules: country, state, city or radius

Geo Links takes rules by continent, country, state, region, city, latitude, longitude and radius (a radius of at least 50 km), IP address or IP range. The help center documents this setup:

1. Create the geo link and give each location rule its own Link URL, the destination for visitors who match it.
2. Add a default link, so visitors who match no rule do not see a blank page.
3. Pass the path or query string, such as UTM tags, on to the destination if you need it.
4. Open Testing in the left menu, enter a test location and your device IP, turn test mode on, save and visit the link. Turn test mode off and save when you finish.

Linkly's setup is similar: create a new link, enter the fallback URL as the Destination, choose Redirect by country, then enter one destination URL for each country. Linkly allows country-level geo redirects only.

QR codes, short domains and testing

Geo Links hands out short links on gtly.ink, gtly.link or gtly.net, picked in rotation each time you create a link, and Geo Targetly strongly recommends setting up a custom domain. Every geo link also has a downloadable QR code that inherits its redirect rules. The dashboard's testing section tests a geo link without a VPN.

Linkly's support page says its IP geolocation doesn't support VPN connections, so test its rules from a real connection in the country.

What a geo link costs: clicks, not visits

Geo Targetly's pricing page says a pageview is consumed only on a link click, even when the click is not geo targeted, and visits to the destination page do not count. Geo Links turns one short link into a redirect by country, state, city or radius and counts one pageview per click, so the quota on Geo Targetly pricing reads as clicks for this tool.

On the standard price list Dev is $12 a month billed monthly for 1,000 pageviews a month ($14 in the live price test), as read on October 30, 2026; no refunds are provided and unused quota does not roll over. The 14-day trial includes Geo Links, held to one setup and about 400 clicks, and shows a vendor branding countdown page on a geo link during the trial.

On that date Linkly's Pro plan, the first with geo and device redirect rules, was $32 a month billed annually or $39 billed monthly, and lists 10,000 clicks a month. Its Starter plan does not list geo rules.

When a site redirect is the better tool

A redirect on your site cannot route a link shared off the site, and a geo link cannot help a visitor who arrives from a search result. For visitors who land on the site itself, set a redirect as in redirect website visitors by country; a free Cloudflare rule or a country page with hreflang can be enough.

Choose a geo link when one link goes out in ads or email and each country has its own store page.
